LEADERS IN GLOBAL AFFAIRS
OUR GOALS
DIPLOMACY
True to the spirit of the United Nations, AMUN strives to foster a constructive forum for open dialogue on a range of complex issues, including international peace and security and economic and social progress. We ask delegates to think critically about the world around them, and to think in new and ambitious ways.
INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
Our alumni have been pivotal in international relations, working at the United Nations in Geneva, the Canadian Permanent Mission to the UN in New York City, and various international organizations throughout Europe and Asia while advancing to prestigious graduate programs, including at the University of Cambridge.
RESEARCH
Our club fosters intellectually stimulating research environments, where we teach our members how to analyze international affairs and apply themselves to the fullest, ensuring that they accurately represent their delegations and work within the United Nations system to achieve their goals.
ABOUT
Formed in 2015, Acadia Model United Nations (AMUN) aims to educate our members about the United Nations system, its workings, and how to achieve their various goals in the spirit of multilateralism and international cooperation. We meet once weekly in the KC Irving Centre where we run various simulations and research workshops. Our membership has had various successes in the past several years, including our award-winning delegation who attended the National Model United Nations Conference (NMUN) in New York City at United Nations Headquarters and at the Canadian International Model United Nations (CANIMUN) in Ottawa. Any and all members of the Acadia community are welcome to join and we encourage whoever may be interested in making the world a better place to join our club.
